In order to provide better care for those in our congregation and community who are mourning the loss of a loved one, this summer, Mount Zion will be starting a GriefShare Group. GriefShare is a weekly seminar/support group designed to reach out to those who are grieving the death of someone close, by providing valuable information and a safe, supportive environment in which those who are grieving may share their stories and the pain of their loss. To successfully launch this new ministry, we are currently seeking male and female GriefShare group facilitators. If you are a good listener and/or have spiritual gifts such as compassion and encouragement, and are interested in learning more about this new ministry opportunity, please contact Barb Jacques at 301-854-2324 ext 26 or by email at barbjacques@verizon.net.

It is that wonderful time of the year when Fellowship Care becomes Lemonade on the Lawn. Each church committee takes responsibility for hosting one Sunday during the summer. It is a delightful time to meet old friends and make new ones between 8:30 and 11:00am. (If it rains, meet us in the Fellowship Hall.)

June 2cd - Mt. Zion Youth, Karen Riggins

Stephen Ministry trains lay persons who are gifted in areas such as compassion, encouragement and wisdom, to bring Christ’s healing love to those facing difficult life situations. Those who train to become Stephen Ministers participate in a 50-hour training program, learning skills which equip them to become excellent listeners. We are currently recruiting and selecting Stephen Minister candidates for our next training program, which will begin in September. We are in need of both male and female Stephen Ministers. If you are a good listener, with a heart for reaching out to those in need, I hope that you will prayerfully consider applying to serve in this ministry. Applications can be found on the Stephen Ministry Bulletin Board, located outside of the Fellowship Hall. For more information, please contact Barb Jacques at 301-854-2324, ext 26 or by e-mail at barbjacques@verizon.net.
