Ministries

 Music Ministry

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing. Know that the Lord is God. It is He that made us and we are His; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” (Psalm 100:1-3 NRSV). Whether you are a professional singer or a beginner, please join us in musical worship to God!

Audiovisual Team

The Audiovisual Team provides sound and video projection support to Sunday worship service at Mt. Zion. No special requirements/skills are needed to be a part of this team; training, both offline and on-the-job will be provided.

The audio team sets up the sanctuary for the sound requirements, checks the quality of the various microphones, and operates the soundboard during the services.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Dan Gallagher: techmanager@mtzionhighland.com

The video team is tasked with creating PowerPoint files for each service, downloading, and setting up the files for display, and manning the computer in the A/V booth to display the files.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Jill Scott: presentations@mtzionhighland.com

The live-stream team sets up cameras and combines audio, video, and graphics into a virtual production that is streamed across the internet so viewers can enjoy Mt. Zion services and events from wherever they may be. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Dan Gallagher: techmanager@mtzionhighland.com

Shepherding Ministry

One of our oldest and most-beloved care-giving ministries, Mt. Zion's Shepherding Teams are the hands and feet of Christ for members and friends experiencing life challenges. From providing meals to new moms and those recovering from illness, surgery, or hospitalization to coordinating funeral receptions and transportation to church or medical appointments, these teams are on call and ready to reach out whenever there is a need.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry was founded in 1975 by Dr. Kenneth Hauck in St. Louis, MO as a layperson Christian caregiving service.

  • It is now an international organization with:

    • More than 13,000 congregations that have enrolled in Stephen Ministry.

    • More than 600,000 laypeople who have received Stephen Minister training.

    • Over one-and-a-half-million people have had a Stephen Minister to walk with them, providing one-to-one Christian care during tough times.

Mt. Zion began this ministry in 2010 through the vision of Barb Jacques, a Congregational Care staff person.
