Christian Jail Ministry Training session will be Sat, Apr 27, 9am–3:30p Training is at no charge; attending does not obligate you to become a CJM volunteer. This session will help give you a better understanding of ministry to prisoners and to learn about ministry at the Howard County Detention Center (HCDC), our local jail. Mt. Zion is working with St. Paul‘s Lutheran in supporting the Trotor Christian Orphanage in Ghana. On January 25 St. Paul‘s will ship new and gently used shoes and new socks of any size to Trotor for children age 4 through high school. All types of shoes are needed including dress shoes (flat heels), tennis shoes and sandals. Shoes and socks can be placed in the specially marked box in the West Narthex any time through noon on Sunday, January 22. Working toward our goal of “Welcoming each and every person to Mt. Zion with the love of Christ”, the Hospitality Committee will host two training opportunities for Greeters on Sunday, Dec 4th (9:45 am or 12:15 pm) in the Fellowship Hall.
